B-I-N-G-O!

Many patrons of The Seattle Public Library look forward with bated breath each year for Summer Book Bingo. Thankfully for avid readers, Adult and Teen Book Bingo boards were just released on Monday, May 19.

This year, the program’s eleventh, the King County Library System joins the party! Presented by the two library systems plus Seattle Arts and Lectures, and sponsored by The Seattle Public Library Foundation, King County Library System Foundation, and the Friends (we are proud to provide prize money for this program), Book Bingo is truly a group effort.

Library staff work hard for months to brainstorm categories and create relevant booklists. Categories for 2025 include Found FamilyPNW NatureCensorship, and twenty other diverse themes and genres.

Jane Singer, a Reader Services Librarian, shared that “At its core, Book Bingo is about celebrating reading…having that reminder of the joy of connecting readers to books has been energizing and fun.” Keep an eye out for Singer’s fun upcoming post on The Library’s Shelf Talk blog about how the Hunger Games series can fit nearly all of this year’s bingo categories.

We can’t wait for you to dig into a wide variety of books this summer. Happy reading, and best of luck filling up that board.
