Membership

Be a Friend!

Membership with the FOSPL supports funding programs that inspire and nurture the lifelong love of reading in our communities.

How much does membership cost?
Membership is only $25 per year. Membership is tax-deductible.

How does my membership dues (donation) help FOSPL?

The Friends funds programs such as:

  • Free books at community events throughout the year.
  • Books for Teachers program which provides classroom books to our local schools. So far, more than 3,000 books have been donated along with 40 $250 gift cards to teachers!
  • Gifts for every child who signs up for their first library card. 5,000 tote bags are given each year!
  • The donation solely benefits FOSPL, not the SPL Foundation. To learn more about donating separately to the Foundation, click here.
What benefits do I get in becoming a member?
  • 20% off all gifts (excluding books) at the Seattle Central Library Friendshop.
  • Receive 2 free books at every Second Saturday event in Georgetown.
  • The feel-good feeling of supporting The Friends’ advocacy efforts for The Seattle Public Library and literacy!
