(Revised 4/10/2010)
In order to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all participants at our Book Sale, we expect attendees to adhere to the following: Please be courteous in your behavior towards others.
In fairness to others, do not remove quantities of books from the tables to sort through which to purchase. Select and examine books on an individual basis at the tables. Hand-held devices to check books may only be used at the tables. Do not stack up books to check later. Boxes pulled out from under the tables should be placed back neatly. Fire Department regulations require that all aisles and fire exits be kept clear at all times. Keep all aisles, doorways, and passageways clear of boxes, stacks of books, and/or people sitting on the floor or in chairs. On Saturday and Sunday only, an area is provided at the south end of the hangar to stack books you have decided to purchase. If you line up before the opening of the sale, you must remain in line except for short 10 minute breaks or lose your place. You may not save places for others who have not been in line. Please, no food or drink near tables with books. All boxes and flats belong to the Friends of The Seattle Public Library. Please do not remove them. Please bring your own boxes. There will be some bags for customers available at the entrance and at check-out. Only service dogs are allowed at the Book Sale.
REMINDER: At the Friday evening Members Preview Sale, each member may purchase up to 25 items (auction items do NOT count toward the limit).
Our policy is one membership per person.
