The Friends of The Seattle Public Library Book Sale

Save the date for our Spring sale: April 16 - 18, 2010

 

The Friends holds two major book sales every year, in Spring and Fall. At each sale, over 200,000 books and other items are offered to the general public. Proceeds go to benefit The Seattle Public Library.


Location: Magnuson Park, Hangar in Building #30, 7400 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, 98115.

The park may be reached by Metro bus routes 30, 74, and 75. Free parking is available.

 

The Fall Book Sale will be held September 24- 26, 2010.


Preview Sale

Friends memberships and renewals are $30 at the door of the Friday night Members Preview Sale. To renew or purchase in advance for $15 visit our membership page.

 


Items for sale include:

  • Art prints and posters
  • Nonfiction books organized by category
  • Huge selection of hardcover and paperback fiction
  • Audio books, music CDs, and movies on VHS and DVD
  • Large "Better Books" section
  • Rare, collectible, and sets room

Pricing: All items in the regular section are $1.00 each, except art prints, which are priced as marked. Books in the "Better Books" section are priced as marked.

 

Silent Auction at Member Preview Sale:

Members may bid in the silent auction held at the preview sale on Friday night. Auction items do not count toward the 25-item limit.

  • Plays in Prose and Verse by W.B. Yeats (1924). Number 184 of 250 copies. SIGNED BY YEATS.
  • Peter Beard: Fifty Years of Portraits curated by Peter T. Tunney (1999).
  • Coos River Echoes by Charlotte Mahaffy (1965). SIGNED BY MAHAFFY.
  • Charles Blackman: The Lost Domains by Nadine Amadio (1982).
  • Robert Bloom Collection: Solo Works and Chamber Music for Oboe (1998). Three volumes.
  • Sermons, Chiefly Intended to Promote Faith, Hope, and Charity by Vicesimus Knox (1792).
  • The Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters: First Fifty Years 1925-1978 (1979). Number 147 of 1,000 copies. SIGNED BY WILLIAM WERBACH.
  • Utlramarine by Raymond Carver (1986). SIGNED BY CARVER.
