Programs

  • $10,000 for Summer Reading Program

For Adults Support for the 2008 program including design, production and printing of materials; prizes not donated; staff time off desk and miscellaneous

  • $50,000 for Immigrant and Refugee Outreach

To complete the Allen Challenge Grant for Life Skills For New Americans

Other Support for the Staff & Public
  • $26,350 for Opportunity Fund Funding

For local programming and staff support which will provide access to resources for all units. This funding will consist of local program support of $600 per branch/department and staff support of $250 per branch/department. This will allow branches and departments to meet a specific need in their neighborhood or specialty area.

  • $30,000 for City Librarian's Discretionary Fund

The City Librarian has needs to make purchases for projects and initiatives that fall outside of what public funds can cover. Examples include support of staff day, specialized training opportunities for staff including bringing in speakers, hosting of special meetings for strategic planning and community outreach.
